Why do we have a CVE-116 Archive Site??

This site has a simple story:

My Dad, William E. Brown, served on the USS Badoeng Strait from November 1945 to March 1946, and his crew picture hangs on his study today. This photo is dated 4 May 1946 in San Diego.

His stories encouraged me to gather information on the ship on a single site, and this site is dedicated to him and all the others who served on CVE-116.

We hope that this site will provide a way for them and their families to remember those times and pass along the memories to family members in the future.
