In Memoriam - Ronald R. Middag

"Over the past few years I have exchanged letters with Mr. Ronald R. Middag, who headed "E" Division as long as I was on duty with the Bing Ding. I just received a note from his son, Robert, who reported Mr. Middag passed away on June 27, 2005 in Las Vegas, NV. I am attaching 2 photos, the first of Mr. Middag as an EM3. Mr. Middag wrote the following note an back of this picture: "When I was 3rd Class on the old carrier Lexington CV2 ....sunk during the Coral Sea Battle May 8, 1942. I was 27 yrs old then." The second as CWO perhaps taken when I knew him on the Badoeng Strait. Mr. Middag was loved and respected by his men, and I know we all shall feel a sense of loss in his passing."
